Hawaii Island Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in the robbery of a business in Hilo on the morning of Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
At around 9:34 a.m. on Dec. 6, Hilo Patrol officers went to a retail store in the 300 block of Kilauea Boulevard when a clerk reported that a male suspect fled with a stolen backpack and other items this store. Store clerks attempted to stop the male suspect outside the store, who brandished a knife-like object, threatened the clerk, and fled the area on foot to the Gulf Football Stadium.
The suspect is described as a local male, of medium build, dark skin, 6 feet tall and with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, jeans and a black hat with “Hawaii” emblazoned on it.
The District 1 Criminal Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate, which is classified as a first-degree robbery.
