SEATTLE – Businesses in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood are recovering from several burglaries.
Signs outside the Madrona market and deli welcome customers on Thursday. Its doors were boarded up, but it was one of the few businesses open on Thanksgiving.
On November 11, at least three people drove a van into the store. 17. The entire crime was caught on camera. The video shows the thief walking behind the counter and leaving the cigarette display case.
A business near Claire Kinder’s HONED was also burglarized on Nov. 10.10. The jewelry store was ransacked and thieves took a safe filled with fine jewelry and other materials, according to the GoFundMe business.
Data from the Seattle Police Department says burglaries have decreased in the Madrona neighborhood. So far in 2022, 64 thefts have been reported, compared to 102 in 2021.
