Alaska introduced a new ranked-choice voting system for the general election this year. Results reported so far reflect only voters’ first-place choices.If no candidate gets a majority of the first choice, the winner is determined by Sort selection process. The form is scheduled for release on November 23rd.
- At-Large Zones in Alaska – Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola unexpectedly won the August special election to replace the late Republican Rep. Tang Yang. She is in a rematch with the former governor. 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Republican businessman Nick Begich are running for full terms.

- Arizona 1st District – CNN Project Phase VI Republican Rep. David Schweckert, who was previously condemned by the House for ethics violations, will be defeated Democrat Jevon Hodge for this redrawn and renumbered Phoenix-area seat. The seat has become more democratic in redistricting — Joe Biden has led it by less than 2 percentage points in 2020.
- Arizona 6th District – Juan Ciscomani, a Republican, former senior adviser to the governor. Doug Ducey and former state senator Democrat Kirsten Engel are vying for the redrawn and renumbered area that covers southeastern Arizona and includes Tucson. In some areas. By 2020, Biden’s seat will only increase by a tenth of a percentage point.

California, the most populous state in the U.S., has 10 uncalled House races.Officials expect it to take several weeks to calculate canvas It does not expire one month after Election Day. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Tuesday, November 15. (CNN has yet to predict who will win California’s 34th District, but since both candidates are Democrats, it’s included in the Democratic total.)
- 3rd District of California — Republican Kevin Kiley, a state congressman who lost last year’s gubernatorial recall election, is vying with Democratic Navy veteran Kermit Jones for the The sprawling stretch of the state’s border with Nevada. Donald Trump will boost his seat by 2 percentage points in 2020.
- District 9 of California – Democratic Rep. Josh Harder, who is seeking a third term, will run against Republican Tom Patti, a member of the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, for the Stockton-based Northern California seats. In 2020, Biden will lead the region by 13 points.
- California’s 13th District – Republican business owner John Duarte and Democratic state Assemblyman Adam Gray are vying for the vacant Central Valley seat, with Biden taking 11 points in 2020.
- California’s 21st District – Democratic Rep. Jim Costa is running for a 10th term with Republican Navy veteran Mike Maher. In 2020, Biden will have a 20-point lead in the Central Valley seat.
- California’s 22nd District – Republican Rep. David Wallado and Democratic state Rep. Rudy Salas are battling for the Latino-dominated Central Valley district, which will support Biden by 13 percentage points in 2020.
- California’s 27th District — Republican Rep. Mike Garcia and Democrat Christy Smith are vying for a third straight seat in northern Los Angeles County. Garcia defeated Smith in both the 2020 special and general elections, winning the latter race by 333 votes. Biden will lead the redistricting district by 12 points in 2020.
- California’s 41st District – Longtime Republican Rep. Ken Calvert battles former U.S. Attorney Democrat Will Rollins in Riverside County area, Trump leads by 1 in 2020 .
- California’s 45th District – Republican Rep. Michelle Steel and Navy reservist, Democrat Jay Chen, are vying for the Orange County seat, which is meant to maximize Asian-American attracted by the power of voters. Biden will boost his seat by 6 percentage points in 2020.
- California’s 47th District – Democratic Rep. Katie Porter and Republican Scott Bowe, the former minority leader in the California Assembly, are vying for the coastal Orange County district, which Biden will win by 11 points in 2020.
- California’s 49th District – Democratic Rep. Mike Levin and Republican Brian Maryott, the former mayor of San Juan Capistrano, began the rematch two years ago. In 2020, Biden will lead the coastal region north of San Diego by 11 percentage points.

Colorado
After the 2020 census, the Centennial State received its eighth reassigned seat. Two games have not yet been played.
- Colorado 3rd District – Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert unexpectedly found herself in a tight race for her West Slope district, which became the redistricting savior. (Trump leads by 8 points in 2020.) Her Democratic opponent is former Aspen city councilman Adam Frisch, and an automatic recount is possible.
- 8th District of Colorado – Democratic state Rep. Yadira Caraveo and Republican state senator. Barbara Kirkmeyer is vying for this new seat north of Denver. Biden’s lead in 2020 is less than 5 points. Although Kirkmeier has conceded to Calavio, CNN did not make a prediction for the match.

Maine
Maine is another state that uses ranked-choice voting to decide the winner of a federal election. Results reported so far reflect voters’ first choice. In ranked-choice voting, if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated and their votes are allocated to the second-place voter. The process continues until the candidate clears 50%. The ranking selection form is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15th.
- Maine’s 2nd District — Democratic Rep. Jared Golden and former Republican Rep. For the second time, Bruce Poliquin could see their race determined by the state’s ranked-choice voting system. As of Sunday afternoon, neither the candidate nor independent Tiffany Bond had cleared 50 percent of the vote for the district that covers much of northern Portland. Trump will take it by 6 points in 2020. In 2018, Golden ousted Poliquin after the votes were redistributed under the ranking selection system.

Oregon
Oregon elects entirely by mail. Ballots must be postmarked on Election Day and can be received up to 7 days later. The state gained a new House seat in redistricting. As of Sunday night, one of Oregon’s six House games had not been played after CNN’s projection in the Fifth District.
- 5th District of Oregon – CNN reported that Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the former mayor of Happy Valley, will defeat Democrat Jamie McLeod-Skinner in the redistricted area that stretches from the Portland suburbs to Bend. Biden will boost his seat by 8 percentage points in 2020. Chavez-Dremer will replace the Democratic House of Representatives. Kurt Schrader, whom McLeod Skinner defeated in the primary earlier this year.
- 6th District of Oregon – Democratic state Rep. Andrea Salinas and Republican businessman Mike Erickson are fighting over the newly delineated area, which includes Salem. Biden will lead by 13 points in 2020.
