Albemarle, N.C. – Beverly Knits Inc. is adding to its corporate portfolio with its latest acquisition.
The company, one of the largest manufacturers of circular knitting machines in the United States, has purchased the assets of Gentry Mills, which provides dyeing and finishing services to the textile industry. The new business unit will be called Creative Dyeing & Finishing LLC. The business will complement Beverly Knits companies: Creative Fabrics, Creative Ticking, Altus Finishing and Hemingway Sewing Solutions.
A combination of factors led to the decision to invest and expand, said Ron Sytz, CEO of Beverly Knits Inc., which has been producing circular knit textiles for more than 42 years in Gastonia, North Carolina.
“We believe now is the right time to further expand our capabilities in fabric dyeing and finishing. This will continue to support the resurgence of textile production and enhance our ability to produce ‘Made in America’ goods,” he said.
The new company is expected to hire an additional 50 or more employees by 2023 due to expected increased demand.
The Creative Dyeing and Finishing business will provide fabric finishing, brushing and printing services for the apparel, industrial and bedding markets. Investments in advanced control technology, including equipment upgrades, will modernize operations over the next two years.
Beverly Knits offers performance apparel, athletic footwear, intimate apparel, outdoor apparel, mattress and bedding solutions, automotive, industrial and medical products.
