CHARLESTON, West Virginia (WSAZ) – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin will host the business mogul and Microsoft co-founder in his home state of West Virginia on Monday.
According to Manchin’s office, the visit was to “demonstrate West Virginia’s deep history in the energy industry and its potential for innovative energy opportunities in the future.”
Gates will also participate in a fireside chat at the Clay Center in Charleston on Monday afternoon, moderated by Marshall University President Brad Smith.
The fireside chat will be hosted by the WV Chamber of Commerce, WV Manufacturers Association, AFL-CIO Charleston Regional Federation and the Huntington Chamber of Commerce.
During Monday’s talks, Sen. Manchin and Gates are expected to discuss the possibility of passing the Senate-backed Lower Inflation Act. Manchin.
