Falcons take care of business, get 11 firsts

U.S. Soccer Association, Colorado.– In the Air Force’s first official game of the 2022-23 season at the Cadet Natatorium, the Falcons won 11 of 13 games, beating Nebraska-Omaha and Colorado Mines head-to-head College.

“It was a really good night of games,” the head coach said Rob Clayton“Nebraska-Omaha and Minez both have some really good swimmers, so there’s a lot of really good competition. It’s especially exciting for us to see some freshmen come out and win.”

About Freshmen, C4C Jack Van Falkenberg Topped both the 200Y Free (1:45.64) and 500Y Free (4:52.86). Both games marked VanValkenburg’s first career wins.

Zhang’s standout night also included wins at 1000Y Free (9:57.19) and 100Y Fly (49.25).

Air Force leads pole position as Team Bartolomei in 200Y Medley Relay, Conservative Bartlett, Andrew Armbrewsterand Joseph Moore The combined time was 1:32.81, top of the nine participating teams. Bartlett also finished first in the 100Y Breast with a score of 56.65.

John Pruitt (21.44) narrowly beat Nebraska-Omaha’s Owen Hoak (21.48) in the 50-year-old free, and won the game by 0.04 seconds over the Mavericks.

Alex Kenyon Was the star of the diving section of the competition, winning one meter (355.73) and three meters (323.48). Eric Pfaffenbichler and Douglas Campbell Also finished second and third in two dives.

“I feel like the whole team has come a long way,” Clayton said. “We took a step forward tonight and we’re excited to play in Denver tomorrow.”

Next, the Air Force traveled along I-25 to Denver and LSU for three games at El Pomar Swimming Pool. The event starts at 1:00 PM MT.
