Firefighters respond to nighttime building fire in Kailua Commercial Centre

HONOLULU (Hawaii News) — The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a call for a nighttime building fire in Kailua.

The HFD said six resource units, staffed with 22 staff, responded to the incident at around 1.40am on Monday after seeing smoke billowing from Assagio’s in the Kailua business centre.

Upon investigation, firefighters went to the roof of the building and said they found smoke emanating from the ventilation ductwork.

Crews then worked to put out the blaze, which was completed by 3:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
