Flashes lead field after McLean’s first day at Winton Memorial

Skokie Ill… After the first day at the Winton Memorial, the Kent State men’s golf team led the pack with a strong showing across the Flashes lineup.

After showing his talent in the team’s first two games, the freshman Ben McLean Monday got off to a bang in combing rounds of 67 and 68. At five under par, McClain will be third in Tuesday’s final.

Four of the five Flashes on the lineup will make it to the third round of the top 25, with all five players in the top 50. Cade Brightenstein (140), finished Monday’s race in a tie for 10th, followed by Chris Vandert in the 13th and Jordan Gilkeson on the 22nd

Kent State will be paired with Marquette and Memphis in the third and final round with a 9:30 tee time. Live scores can be found at GolfStat.com.
