A meeting was held to help Yili businesses understand if they have the potential to do business overseas.
For the first time in two years since the pandemic, the Northwest Commission held its annual “Bringing the World to Pennsylvania.”
The International Trade Manager said the Northwest Commission currently has 13 authorized trade representative offices around the world, 12 of which hold meetings in Erie.
Regional companies have the opportunity to meet with trade representatives to discuss overseas business opportunities.
“It’s just keeping the conversation going and taking it to the next step so the company can grow and prosper. Again, exporting companies can pay higher wages, can hire more people. It’s just in the interests of the Erie region,” Northwest Commissioner International Trade Manager Dorte Heffernan said.
Heffernan said the conference was a good start if businesses wanted to see if they had overseas potential.
