KPMG adds six professionals to tax practice

KPMG US has announced the recruitment of six partners, principals and managing directors across its tax practice line.

british haxton (Major, International Tax, Washington, DC) brings over 12 years of experience to KPMG. Previously, she spent more than a decade at the global law firm McDermott Will & Emery before becoming a partner in the firm’s Washington office. Previously, she also served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of South Dakota for nearly two years.

Haxton holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Creighton University.

Joe Vaccaro (Partner, Commercial Tax Services, New York) will support KPMG clients in the financial services banking and insurance tax practice. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of tax law. He joins KPMG from MetLife, where he worked for over a decade as Senior Vice President and Global Tax Director. Before that, he worked at AIG for 9 years as a senior tax advisor. He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers USA.

Vaccaro holds a Master of Laws in Taxation and Taxation from New York University and a Juris Doctor from St. Petersburg. BA in Economics and Accounting from the University of Holy Cross.

KPMG adds six professionals to tax practice

Ilya Borukhov (Managing Director, Tax Department, Asset Management, New York) with nearly 20 years of experience. For the past seven years, he has worked for big four rival Deloitte as a senior tax manager focusing on private equity, hedge funds, credit funds and fund clients within funds. Before that, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for nearly a decade as a tax manager for private equity and hedge funds. Borukhov started his career as a private equity accountant at Bisys Fund Services.

He holds a master’s degree in taxation from Baruch College.

Nelson Valentine (Managing Director, Tax Department, Asset Management, New York) with 18 years of experience. He joins KPMG from MHR Fund Management, where he worked for over five years as Director of Taxation. Prior to that, Valentine worked at Deloitte for over 12 years, later as a Senior Manager of International Tax.

He holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Mississippi.

Mike Lellant (Managing Director, State and Local Tax, Hartford, CT) With over 20 years of experience, the past 12 years at tool company Stanley Black & Decker, most recently as Senior Director of State and Local Tax. He also previously worked at Ernst & Young for eight years as a tax manager.

Rylant holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University, a J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law, and a BA in Political Science from Providence College.

Suzy Fuller (Managing Director of Real Estate and Financial Services Tax in New York) with 17 years of experience. She spent her final year at restaurant franchise group KBP Brands as tax director. Before that, Fuller spent ten years at KPMG as a senior manager of taxation. Earlier in her career, she was a tax accountant at RubinBrown LLP and a senior tax accountant at Williams Keepers.

Fuller holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
