The victim of Sunday morning’s fatal shooting outside the Stay Gold tattoo parlor in the Batavia township has been identified as the business’s owner, 42-year-old Brian Wilson. Amelia’s Michael Guilfoyle Jr., 33, has been charged with aggravated murder and the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office said the communications center received a call from Badawi just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday. 911 open-line telephones in the 1792 State Highway 125 area of Yazheng. The dispatcher did not have any direct contact with the caller; however, they were able to hear a verbal altercation over money followed by gunshots. In radio communications, a dispatcher can be heard relaying what she heard to responders. “One guy yelled, ‘Give me the money. I’m going to shoot. Give me the money,'” the dispatcher said. “There was another guy in the back who said he didn’t have $2,500 on him.” Moments later, she relayed that someone had shot. Investigators said the first officer arrived at the scene and found Wilson lying and unresponsive on the westbound lane of SR-125, just east of the SR-132 intersection. He died instantly. Guilfoyle was also at the scene, investigators said. They said he admitted he had a verbal argument with Wilson over money and admitted to shooting Wilson. According to court documents, Guilfoyle told a police officer that he shot Wilson 17 times because he owed him money and because he thought he was a friend. Investigators did not say how many times Wilson was shot. A woman who appeared at the scene told WLWT she knew Wilson. She asked not to be named but said that in addition to being a local business owner, he is also the father of a young child. “He’s a good guy. He’ll work with anyone. I’ve had other kids go to him and get tattoos and they don’t have enough money and he’s like, ‘It’s okay, we’ll do a payment plan.’ He’s always upbeat , it’s funny. You know, he’s always been a good guy. He never tried to hurt anyone. He tried to be fair to everyone,” the woman said. Guilfoyle is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Clermont County Municipal Court.
