New Orleans Saints ready for business in London

“You really have to lock down and stay focused. It’s easy to come here and be like, ‘Oh, I want to go see all these different things, I’m in a different country.’ It’s brand new to most people. Yes, but it all comes down to travel. You have to lock in, focus, do your job and make sure we’re ready to beat Minnesota this week.”

While the Vikings opted to travel later in the week, the Saints departed from Charlotte, North Carolina after Sunday’s game, the same formula the team has used in the past, most recently to London in 2017 Time.

“We got here this morning so we can have a good week and focus on the improvements we have to make, on the things we have to do to get ourselves ready to win a game on Sunday,” Dennis coach Allen said. “We have a lot to improve – attacking, defending and playing. We have to work on rectifying and fixing those problems by Sunday.”

The Saints again failed to establish a solid offensive flow on Sunday, marred by three turnovers — including one for a touchdown — and seven penalties. The defense was solid for most of the game, but they had two 67-yard touchdown catches after Ingram’s 5-yard touchdown run made it 13-7. On special teams, kicker Will Lutz had a 30-yard field goal attempt blocked and a 48-yard attempt was missed.

“We’ve played three games this season, 14 games left, and we have to play one at a time,” linebacker DeMario Davis said. “Winning and losing is the same process — watch the tape, find out Where it could get better, make corrections and move on. Absolutely disappointed that the game didn’t go the way we wanted, but all of our goals are still in front of us.

“(Defense) is not good enough to win games. That’s the name of the business. We have to get better.”
