2 Lafayette Web Development Companies Join Forces

Comit Developers is teaming up with Bizzuka to create one of the largest web development companies in Louisiana.

Comit will acquire Bizzuka’s ongoing web hosting, development, maintenance and security teams.

The two Lafayette companies have a 20-year history in web design, digital marketing and customer service, with Comit co-founder Spencer Hoyt and partner Jared Allardyce working with Bizzuka CEO John Munsell.

Bizzuka has gradually shifted its focus to digital marketing coaching and consulting, helping businesses build internal and external marketing teams.

“This partnership helps us accelerate our efforts in this direction,” Munsell said. “I would never have considered this move if I hadn’t fully believed that our network customers would continue to receive excellent service and support. I know the people at Comit and I’m sure they are the perfect partners for us going forward.”

Comit started as a small SEO provider and has grown into a development company combining web design and development with reporting, copywriting and web accessibility.

Seafood restaurant to open at abandoned Shoney’s

A long-abandoned building north of Lafayette will be home to a seafood restaurant.

Boogaloo’s Seafood Kitchen announced on Facebook on Tuesday that it will open at the soon-to-be-renovated space at 2208 NE Evangeline Thruway. The building once hosted Shawnee’s.

Work on the building has been going on for several weeks.

Court records show the current owner, listed as Lapri LLC, was arraigned for failing to pay property taxes in recent years, and in September the Lafayette Coalition government set $8,435 on the property for failing to remove unsafe signs lien.
