Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen reveal ‘painful and difficult’ divorce after ‘separation’ | U.S. News

NFL legend Tom Brady and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen have divorced.

On Friday morning, they both released statements on Instagram announcing the end of their marriage.

Brady, 45, said: “In recent days, my wife and I have finalized our divorce after 13 years of marriage. We made this decision amicably and appreciate the time we spent together.”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said the decision was made after “thoughtful thought” and that their children will “continue to be at the center of our world in every way.”

Brady said it was “painful and difficult, like so many people around the world who go through the same thing every day”.

Bundchen Post: “The decision to end a marriage was never an easy one, but we’ve separated, and while it’s certainly hard going through something like this, I’m so happy for our time together, and I just wish Tom the best forever.”

The couple married in 2009 and have two children, while Brady also has a 15-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, is still at the top of the game after returning from a retirement that lasted only 40 days.

He initially quit after saying it would give him “time and energy to focus on other things that require my attention.”

Meanwhile, Bundchen, one of the highest-paid models of the 2000s, quit her runway job in 2015. She now conducts a select number of events each year while focusing on environmental activities and business investments.

She recently spoke about her concerns about her husband’s health after years in the physical world of American football.

“Obviously, I have my concerns. It’s a very violent sport, and I have my child, and I hope he’ll be more in attendance,” she told Elle magazine in September.

“I’ve definitely had these conversations with him over and over again. But at the end of the day, I feel like everyone has to make a decision that’s right for[them]. He also needs to follow his joy.”

The 42-year-old added: “I’ve done my part just to be there for (Tom).

“I moved to Boston and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my kids to grow in and support him and his dreams,” she said.

“It makes me happy to see my kids succeed and become beautiful little human beings, to see him succeed and fulfilled in his career. At this point in my life, I feel like I’m here Well done.”

Brady, who left the Buccaneers for 11 days in August for unspecified personal reasons, is now on a three-game losing streak for the first time in his illustrious 20-year career.

If he decides to retire permanently, he will sign a 10-year contract with Fox Sports worth $375 million as their lead analyst.
