Memphis, Tennessee (WMC) — The trial of the woman charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident in Overton Park five years ago is scheduled to begin Monday.
The trial has been postponed until October 11.
Joanna Goodfellow is charged with killing 32-year-old Christopher Phillips.
He was hit and killed by a car while crossing the road near Madison Avenue and Morrison Street in February 2017.
Goodfellow was charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident causing death, tampering with evidence and reckless driving.
Phillips’ family filed a civil lawsuit against Goodfellow, alleging she was physically injured in the crash and that she “conspired to hide, hide and ultimately destroy the car” in a parking lot of her father’s.
